Winning is the wrong result

In this variation of Acchi Muite Hoi, your goal is to let the boss win naturally. Rock–paper–scissors decides whether you point or turn your head; winning that first step does not itself fail the game.

When turning, match the direction of the boss’s finger at the right moment. When pointing, avoid matching the direction of the boss’s face. Matching it would make you win and fail the courtesy challenge.

Controls and timing

Use the on-screen hand and arrow buttons on PC or mobile. Keyboard controls are 1/2/3 for rock/scissors/paper, and arrow keys or WASD for directions. Press once at the reveal rather than holding the key.

Missing the input, moving too early, or responding too late costs one life. Each bout has three lives. A direction mismatch within the timing window continues the bout without that timing penalty.

Focus slows the action for 2.2 seconds, up to three uses per bout. Activate it with the button, F, or Space. Read the hand, eyes, and face rather than expecting a written answer.

Promotions change the challenge

Success advances your career through increasingly senior ranks. The player stays 23 with the same appearance; difficulty comes from the bosses’ rhythms, habits, and timing windows. There are no random mistakes caused by the player ageing.

Success counts and promotion progress are stored on this device. A failed bout does not erase earlier promotions. The role and timing guide separates direction mistakes from early or late input.
